FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas is hitting its stride at an important point of the season.

Dallas defeated the Portland Timbers 2-1 on Saturday night for its third consecutive victory, completing a demanding three-game stretch in seven days with a perfect record.

It is the club’s first three-game winning streak since Oct. 28-Nov. 4, 2020.

Logan Farrington scored his ninth goal of the season, while Shaq Moore recorded his second assist. Joaquín Valiente added a goal and an assist, extending his goal-contribution streak to four matches.

Farrington took advantage of Portland’s high defensive line, making a run behind the defense before finishing a pass from Moore.

“As a striker all you need is one chance,” Farrington said.

The victory was especially significant given the workload Dallas faced during the week. Coach Eric Quill praised his players for their resilience while dealing with travel, a compressed schedule and the Texas heat.

“They found a way to do it,” Quill said. “I’m extremely proud to be their coach.”

Dallas also welcomed goalkeeper Daniel back to the starting lineup. Quill credited him with providing composure and strong decision-making after being sidelined for an extended period.

The club’s depth has also become a major factor during its recent run. Defender Nolan Norris said players are pushing one another while remaining focused on the same objective.

“We all have the same goal,” Norris said.

With the playoff race tightening, Dallas is now looking to capitalize on its momentum during an upcoming stretch of home matches. Quill said the club’s goal is to secure home-field advantage and continue climbing the standings.

“We want to chase first,” Quill said.

For now, FC Dallas has something it has been searching for: momentum.
