DALLAS — Jason Robertson scored twice, and the Dallas Stars defeated the New York Islanders 6-3 on Sunday to extend their winning streak to five games, the longest active streak in the NHL.
Dallas scored a season-high six goals and matched its season high with 38 shots on goal. Robertson recorded multiple points for the fourth consecutive game, tying the longest streak of his career.
The Stars also welcomed two NHL newcomers. Dylan Hryckowian and Matthew Seminoff made their league debuts, becoming the first Dallas teammates to do so in the same game since Nick Caamano and Rhett Gardner on Oct. 5, 2019.
Seminoff, a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft, joined first-round selection Lian Bichsel as the second player from Dallas’ 2022 draft class to appear in a game for the club. Hryckowian made his debut alongside his brother, Justin, marking the first time brothers have played together for Dallas since Jamie and Jordie Benn.
Dallas went 3-for-3 on the penalty kill and has not allowed a power-play goal in five consecutive games. The streak is the team’s longest since it killed penalties in 10 straight games from Nov. 11 to Dec. 11, 2025.
The Stars maintained their special-teams success despite injuries keeping regular penalty killers Oskar Back, Radek Faksa, Esa Lindell and Sam Steel out of the lineup.
Coach Glen Gulutzan praised the team’s execution in the third period and the contributions of the two debutants.
“I thought our third period we executed at a high level and created some chances and scored on them,” Gulutzan said.
Robertson said Dallas regrouped after a sloppy second period and focused on executing its game plan.
The Stars will look to extend their winning streak as they continue their NHL regular-season schedule.
