DENTON, Texas — North Texas delivered a dominant performance Saturday, defeating Charlotte 50-10 behind quarterback Tayven Jackson’s career-high five touchdown passes and a defense that kept the 49ers out of the red zone.
Jackson completed 24 of 31 passes for 349 yards without an interception, connecting with five different receivers for touchdowns. Justin Stevenson led the receiving corps with nine catches for 122 yards and two scores.
Running back Jaheim White added 105 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, including a 61-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
Defensively, the Mean Green recorded a safety, two interceptions and consistent pressure on Charlotte’s offense. Davion Rhodes finished with two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, while Brayden Knox contributed 1.5 sacks and a safety.
The 40-point victory marked UNT’s largest conference-game margin since defeating Florida International 49-7 in 2021 and its biggest since joining the American Athletic Conference.
North Texas also surpassed 500 yards of total offense for the fourth consecutive game, continuing its strong start in conference play.
The victory evened UNT’s all-time series against Charlotte at 2-2 and strengthened the Mean Green’s momentum as they continue their American Conference schedule.
