The exhibition slate consists of four games, split evenly between home and road contests, as Dallas prepares for another campaign with Stanley Cup aspirations. The preseason schedule will provide valuable opportunities for returning veterans, offseason acquisitions and prospects to compete before the regular season begins.

Dallas opens preseason play on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a road matchup against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center. Two days later, the Stars return home to host the Blues in the first of two preseason games at American Airlines Center.

The club will remain in Dallas for a second home contest on Wednesday, Sept. 23, when it welcomes the Minnesota Wild. The preseason concludes on Friday, Sept. 25, as the Stars travel to Grand Casino Arena to face Minnesota in the exhibition finale.

While preseason results do not count in the standings, the games serve an important purpose for players and coaches alike. Veterans use the contests to regain game rhythm following the offseason, while younger players and prospects look to make an impression during training camp. The coaching staff also uses the exhibition schedule to evaluate line combinations, defensive pairings and special teams before finalizing the opening-night roster.

For players competing on the roster bubble, preseason performances can play a significant role in determining whether they begin the season in the NHL or continue their development elsewhere. Those exhibition games also give the organization a chance to evaluate chemistry between new teammates and assess players in game situations against NHL competition.

The Stars enter training camp with expectations of remaining among the Western Conference contenders after establishing themselves as one of the league’s most consistent teams in recent seasons. Every preseason game provides another opportunity to build momentum and prepare for the challenges that await when the regular season opens.

Fans attending the two home exhibition games at American Airlines Center will get an early opportunity to see the Stars in action before meaningful games begin. Preseason contests traditionally feature a mix of established NHL players and rising prospects, offering a glimpse into the organization’s depth and future talent.

The four-game schedule also allows the coaching staff to manage player workloads while evaluating multiple lineup combinations over a condensed seven-day span. By the end of the exhibition schedule, the Stars will have a clearer picture of roster decisions as they transition into preparations for opening night.
