DALLAS, Texas — With a postseason berth on the line, Dallas Trinity FC delivered its most complete performance of the season Saturday night.
Dallas secured a spot in the playoffs with a commanding 4-0 victory over Fort Lauderdale United FC in the club’s regular-season finale, finishing fourth in the league standings with 40 points behind an 11-10-7 record.
The attack came alive early and never slowed down as Dallas fired 20 total shots, including 10 on target, while limiting Fort Lauderdale to only four attempts all match.
Forward Allie Thornton opened the scoring in the 27th minute, finding the back of the net for the fourth time this season. The Arlington native and reigning Golden Boot winner gave Dallas momentum after connecting on an assist from former Fort Lauderdale player Jasmine Hamid.
Just four minutes later, rising star Sealey Strawn doubled the lead with a clinical finish off a setup from midfielder Camryn Lancaster. Strawn added another goal in the 69th minute to cap off the first professional brace of her young career and push her season total to five goals.
“I felt really comfortable tonight,” Strawn said. “The last game helped me figure out what I needed to improve. Tonight, I found those spots at the right moments, and everything clicked for us.”
Dallas continued to press late into the match, and forward Bethany Bos added the final goal in the 87th minute off an assist from Lexi Missimo.
Goalkeeper Tyler McCamey recorded three saves and earned her third clean sheet of the season as Dallas closed the regular season on a high note.
The night also carried emotional significance for veteran defender and team captain Amber Wisner, who played her final home match before a postgame retirement celebration.
Head coach Nathan Thackeray praised Wisner’s impact on the club and the sport.
“Amber’s a trailblazer for the game,” Thackeray said. “She’s the definition of a professional, and we’re fortunate to have had her here in Dallas.”
Wisner reflected on the moment following the match, saying the support from teammates and the organization meant more than anything she accomplished on the field.
“At the end of the day, it’s about the impact you leave on people,” Wisner said. “That’s the legacy that matters most.”
Dallas finished the season 2-1 against Fort Lauderdale and now heads into the playoffs carrying momentum after one of its strongest performances of the year.
