SEATTLE — The Dallas Cowboys went to Seattle looking for preseason answers. Camden Brown gave them one worth remembering.
The rookie wide receiver made his presence felt in Dallas’ 17-7 victory over the Seahawks, turning a roster competition into one of the night’s biggest storylines.
Brown finished with three catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns, providing big-play production whenever the Cowboys needed it. His performance included a spectacular diving, one-handed grab that immediately put the young receiver in the spotlight.
But Brown’s night also came with a lighter moment off the field: the Cowboys wideout reportedly had two IDs during the preseason opener.
Nobody was talking about the paperwork by the end of the night.
They were talking about Brown.
The undrafted rookie has been competing for an opportunity in a crowded Dallas receiving room, and Saturday’s performance was exactly the kind of showing that can change the conversation around a roster decision.
Brown scored on a 2-yard touchdown reception from Joe Milton before later finding the end zone again on a connection with Sam Howell.
For a player fighting to earn his way onto the Cowboys’ roster, production matters — and Brown delivered it when the lights came on.
Training camp flashes are one thing. Doing it against another NFL team is different.
Brown did both.
Now the question for Dallas is whether Saturday night was simply a strong preseason performance or the beginning of something bigger for the rookie receiver.
Either way, Camden Brown made sure the Cowboys left Seattle knowing his name.
