FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas made a dramatic return to Toyota Stadium on Saturday, overcoming an early two-goal deficit to beat Sporting Kansas City 4-3 before 10,925 fans.
Petar Musa scored his 18th goal of the season, matching his career high and tying the FC Dallas single-season record.
“We weren’t making decisions to be 3-3. We were making decisions to be 4-3,” head coach Eric Quill said. “That’s who we are.”
Logan Farrington added his eighth goal and fifth assist of the season as FC Dallas continued to battle after a difficult opening 10 minutes.
“The first 10 to 15 minutes were horrible for us,” Farrington said. “But that shows the resilience we have as a team.”
The victory was especially meaningful for Quill, who dedicated the comeback to former teammate Bobby Rhine.
“If there’s any kind of game that Bobby would have shown up and been a part of and found the game-winner, that’s the game,” Quill said.
