ARLINGTON, Texas — Jonathan Aranda’s three-run homer in the 10th inning lifted Tampa Bay to a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday night at Globe Life Field.
The Rangers rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the eighth. Evan Carter’s 421-foot solo homer cut the gap to one before Justin Foscue’s pinch-hit RBI double tied the game.
But Tampa Bay answered in the 10th when Aranda sent a three-run shot into the Rangers bullpen against Jacob Latz.
Jacob deGrom delivered six solid innings, allowing two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts. Joc Pederson and Carter supplied solo homers for Texas.
The loss dropped the Rangers to 1-3 over their last four games after opening the homestand 2-0 and ended their six-series home winning streak.
Texas will try to salvage the series in Sunday’s finale.
