Cowboys Look to Keep Momentum Going Against Cardinals

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys finally got a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Now comes the next challenge: figuring out how to beat the Arizona Cardinals.

Dallas (3-4) returns to AT&T Stadium on Sunday to face Arizona (2-5), a team that has beaten the Cowboys four straight times. The last meeting came in November 2025, when the Cardinals left Dallas with a 27-17 victory.

The Cowboys will have to show that the win in Philadelphia was more than just a good night against a division rival.

One encouraging sign was the running game. Dallas had more success on the ground in Week 7, and Javonte Williams continues to find the end zone. Williams has scored a rushing touchdown in five consecutive games, the longest streak of his career. The Cowboys will need that production again Sunday to keep the offense balanced.

Dak Prescott also took more chances downfield against Philadelphia. He attempted 16 passes that traveled at least 10 air yards, accounting for 59.3% of his attempts. If Dallas can continue stretching the field, it could create more opportunities for George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb.

Pickens is closing in on a notable milestone. He has 1,914 receiving yards since joining the Cowboys in 2025 and needs 86 more to reach 2,000 in his first 25 games with the team. Only Bob Hayes and Terrell Owens have previously reached that mark for Dallas.

Lamb is chasing a milestone of his own. One receiving touchdown against Arizona would tie him with Drew Pearson for seventh in franchise history with 48 touchdown catches.

But the Cowboys have work to do on the other side of the ball.

Arizona ranks 10th in the NFL in time of possession, meaning Dallas could spend long stretches defending if it cannot get the Cardinals off the field. That puts added pressure on a defense that needs to make plays early in drives and avoid giving Arizona easy opportunities.

Quinnen Williams could be a key part of that effort. The defensive tackle has nine tackles for loss this season, the most among NFL defensive tackles. He has also recorded a sack in each of his last two games.

The history between these teams gives Dallas another reason to take this matchup seriously. The Cowboys lead the all-time series, but Arizona has owned the recent meetings. Dallas has not beaten the Cardinals in the regular season since 2017.

Sunday gives the Cowboys a chance to change that and build on their win in Philadelphia. The question is whether they can carry that same offensive production into another week while finding a way to slow down Arizona.

After finally getting back in the win column, Dallas needs another one.
