OXNARD, Calif. — Year 11 looks different on Dak Prescott, and he isn’t interested in pretending otherwise.
When the Dallas Cowboys quarterback arrived at training camp in Oxnard wearing a vintage Super Bowl XXX championship T-shirt, he knew it would make waves. But entering his 11th NFL season—coming off a stellar 2025 campaign where he threw for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns—Prescott isn’t shying away from lofty expectations. He’s demanding them.
“Why shy away from asking people to hold me to the same standard that I believe I can accomplish, and this team can accomplish?” Prescott said. “Year one, I thought it’d be easy. Then you look up seven, eight years later, and you realize these opportunities to put together teams that can actually make a run don’t come often.”
That sense of urgency is driving the entire organization in Oxnard. With a loaded offensive unit featuring CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson, alongside major defensive additions like Quinnen Williams and rookie Caleb Downs, the front office has gone all-in on building a contender.
During off-season workouts in Utah, Prescott even introduced a new team motto for the offense—”GOTI,” short for “Greatest Offense There Is”—challenging his unit to set a historic standard.
“Why can’t we be the greatest offense there is?” Prescott said. “I’m definitely less patient than I used to be. It’s about getting one percent better every day, but to go into the season and say those aren’t our goals? We’d be remiss not to own that.”
