ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys came up short in a heartbreaking finish, falling 33-30 to the Arizona Cardinals in overtime.

Dallas battled throughout the contest, but the Cardinals made the plays when it mattered most, finding a way to secure the victory in extra time.

Dallas appeared to have control for much of the afternoon, building a 17-3 lead before Arizona found its rhythm. The Cardinals responded behind backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, who entered in the third quarter and completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns.

Running back Tyler Allgeier also proved difficult to contain, finishing with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown. His second-half production helped fuel Arizona’s comeback.

The Cowboys had one final opportunity to put the game away in overtime but went three-and-out. Arizona took advantage, setting up kicker Chad Ryland for a 42-yard field goal to seal the victory.

Dak Prescott finished with 195 passing yards, one touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown. Dallas also recorded five sacks and two takeaways, but its defensive struggles down the stretch overshadowed an otherwise promising first half.

The loss drops Dallas to 3-5 on the season, while Arizona improves to 3-5.

For the Cowboys, this was a game they had in hand but couldn’t finish. A two-touchdown advantage wasn’t enough, and the late collapse leaves Dallas with plenty of questions heading into next week’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
