Wings Fall to Mystics 81-75 After Late Washington Surge

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Dallas Wings couldn’t overcome Washington’s late push, falling 81-75 to the Mystics on Friday night at CareFirst Arena.

Paige Bueckers led Dallas (18-11) with 23 points, while Arike Ogunbowale added 20 to extend her streak of 20-point games to five. Alanna Smith chipped in 11 points off the bench.

The Mystics (16-12) controlled the fourth quarter by dominating the glass and converting 12 of 13 free throws over the final 10 minutes. Washington finished with a 42-32 rebounding advantage and outscored the Wings 44-20 in the paint.

Shakira Austin recorded a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Kiki Iriafen added 22 points and nine boards for Washington.
