ARLINGTON, Texas — One night after being outplayed in the series opener, the Texas Rangers responded with one of their most complete performances of the season.
Powered by a season-high 18-hit attack and six scoreless innings from Kumar Rocker, the Rangers rolled to a 10-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night at Globe Life Field, evening the three-game series at one game apiece.
Texas matched its highest run total of the season for the fifth time and recorded its third 10-0 win of the year. The Rangers also collected nine shutout victories in 2026, their first since June 7.
The offense wasted little time backing Rocker. Brandon Nimmo launched a two-run homer into the left-field seats in the first inning, while Wyatt Langford added his own two-run blast during a four-run fifth that broke the game open.
Rocker (6-?) turned in one of his sharpest outings of the season, allowing just one hit over six innings while walking two and striking out six. The right-hander needed only 75 pitches, including 50 strikes, to earn his first victory since May 19 at Colorado and his first home win since April 21 against Pittsburgh.
Chicago managed only three baserunners through the first five innings against Rocker, who carried a no-hit bid into the fourth inning before surrendering his lone hit. The Rangers provided him with a career-high 10 runs of offensive support.
Texas’ lineup was relentless throughout the night.
The Rangers finished with 18 hits, including 17 against left-handed pitching, their highest total against southpaws in a game since 2012. Ten different Texas players recorded at least one hit.
Nimmo led the way with a season-high four-hit performance, all coming against left-handed pitchers. Along with his first-inning homer, the veteran outfielder continued one of the best left-on-left seasons in baseball, reaching double-digit home runs for the fifth consecutive year.
Langford stayed hot after returning from the injured list earlier this month. He opened the bottom of the first with the 300th hit of his major league career before adding his two-run homer in the fifth. Since being activated on July 9, Langford is batting .324 with three home runs and seven RBIs in nine games.
Alejandro Osuna also delivered a big night at the plate in his first start since July 9. The rookie matched career highs with three hits and three RBIs, driving in runs with a pair of singles against Chicago left-handers.
Jake Burger continued his productive stretch with an RBI double in the third inning, extending his RBI streak to three games. Ezequiel Duran added two hits, including an RBI double, while Nicky Lopez came off the bench and contributed two hits and an RBI after replacing Josh Jung, who exited the game in the fourth inning with left calf tightness.
After Rocker departed, Marco Gonzales finished the shutout with three scoreless innings to earn the first save of his major league career in his 171st appearance. Called up from Triple-A Round Rock earlier in the day, Gonzales became the first Rangers pitcher since Jeff Bronkey in 1993 to record a save of at least three innings in his Texas debut.
The White Sox, who entered the night having won six of their previous eight games, struggled to generate offense. Chicago managed just three hits and was shut out for the sixth time this season.
Left-hander Noah Schultz (3-7) endured his toughest outing of the year, allowing five runs on a career-high 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings. The loss continued a difficult stretch for the rookie, who has dropped six of his last eight decisions while watching his ERA climb above 6.00.
The series concludes Wednesday, with both clubs looking to claim the rubber game after splitting the first two contests.
