MINNEAPOLIS — The Texas Rangers kept their American League West hopes alive Saturday with a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
Texas broke the game open with a four-run second inning, then added home runs from Danny Jansen and Jake Burger to build a 6-1 advantage.
Nathan Eovaldi made his first start since Aug. 7, allowing one run over 4⅓ innings. The Rangers’ bullpen kept Minnesota in check the rest of the way.
Jansen finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Evan Carter and Alejandro Osuna each had two hits.
The win moved Texas to 80-81 and ensured the AL West race will go down to the final day of the regular season.
The Rangers will face the Twins again Sunday in the regular-season finale.
