MINNEAPOLIS — The Texas Rangers’ postseason hopes ended Sunday with a 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins in the final game of the regular season.
Texas entered the day needing two things: a win over Minnesota and a Houston loss to Oakland. Neither happened. The Astros defeated the Athletics 9-0, securing the AL West tiebreaker and ending the Rangers’ playoff hopes. Texas finished the season 80-82.
Josh Bell drove in three runs for Minnesota, including a two-run homer that put the Twins ahead for good. Dean Kremer held the Rangers to one run over seven innings, allowing just three hits while retiring 15 of his final 16 batters.
Danny Jansen gave Texas a spark with a solo homer in the third, while Elias Díaz added a home run in the eighth. Corey Seager kept the Rangers within striking distance with a two-run shot in the ninth, his 20th homer of the season, but Texas could not complete the comeback.
The Rangers close the 2026 season at 80-82, ending a late push for the division title one game short of the postseason.
