ARLINGTON, Texas — Rangers vs Tigers ended with Detroit taking the series after a 6-3 victory Sunday at Globe Life Field.
Detroit claimed the final two games of the three-game series after Texas won the opener Thursday. The Rangers also lost the season series to the Tigers, finishing 2-4 against Detroit in 2026.

Texas fell back to .500 at 45-45. The loss ended the club’s six-game winning streak when scoring first. Even so, the Rangers still own the American League’s best record when taking the first lead at 34-11.
Rangers vs Tigers: Burger Goes Deep
Jake Burger gave Texas an early advantage in the third inning. He blasted a 447-foot solo home run to center field. It was his 15th homer of the season and the longest by a Ranger over the last two seasons. The homer also snapped Burger’s 0-for-15 skid.
Greene Sparks Detroit Rally
Detroit answered in the fourth inning.
Kerry Carpenter singled before Riley Greene crushed a two-run homer. The blast gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead. Greene added a two-run triple in the fifth to extend the advantage to 6-1.
Greene finished 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, four RBIs and an intentional walk. He finished one double shy of the cycle.
Rocker Takes the Loss
Kumar Rocker (2-7) took the loss for Texas. The rookie allowed three earned runs on five hits over 4⅓ innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Rocker retired seven consecutive hitters before Detroit broke through. He also posted a scoreless first inning for the second straight start after struggling early in games this season.
Mize Delivers Another Quality Start
Casey Mize (4-5) continued his strong stretch for Detroit. He allowed two runs on five hits over 6⅔ innings. The right-hander struck out four and recorded his second consecutive quality start.
Rangers Show Late Fight
Texas tried to rally in the late innings.
Ezequiel Duran launched a 423-foot solo home run in the eighth. The drive was his seventh homer of the season and his longest since 2023.
Josh Smith continued his productive return from Triple-A Round Rock. He ripped a triple into the right-center gap after a 10-pitch at-bat. Smith is hitting .333 since being recalled.
The Rangers also received solid relief work. Gavin Collyer and Cole Winn combined for 3⅔ scoreless innings while striking out six batters.
Looking Ahead
Detroit improved to 40-50 with the victory. Texas dropped to 45-45 and will try to get back above .500 during the final stretch before the All-Star break.
