Rangers Place Nathan Eovaldi on 15-Day Injured List With Elbow Inflammation

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers will be without veteran right-hander Nathan Eovaldi for at least the next two weeks after placing him on the 15-day injured list with right posterior elbow inflammation.

The move was made Monday and backdated to Aug. 9, marking the first time Eovaldi has landed on the injured list this season.

Eovaldi, 36, has been an important part of the Rangers’ rotation in 2026. He has made 22 starts, going 10-9 with a 4.21 ERA and 137 strikeouts over 132 2/3 innings. His most recent outing came Friday against Baltimore, when he allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings.

To fill Eovaldi’s spot on the roster, Texas recalled right-hander Ben Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock.

Peoples, 25, made his major league debut earlier this season and has appeared in 12 games for Texas, posting a 2.19 ERA over 12 1/3 innings. He gives the Rangers another arm as the club navigates the rotation without one of its veteran leaders.

The Rangers will now have to adjust their pitching plans while Eovaldi works his way back from the elbow inflammation.
