ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings continued to build out their roster late in the 2026 WNBA Draft, selecting Zee Spearman out of the University of Tennessee with the No. 31 overall pick.
Spearman, a versatile forward known for her length and defensive instincts, gives Dallas another developmental piece as the franchise looks to strengthen its frontcourt rotation. While not among the headline names of the draft, her upside and motor stood out to the Wings’ scouting staff.
Coming out of Tennessee, Spearman developed a reputation for her physicality and effort on both ends of the floor, particularly on the glass and in defensive matchups. Her experience in a competitive program adds to her appeal as a player who can adjust to the pro level.
Dallas has emphasized adding players who can contribute across multiple areas, and Spearman fits that mold. Her ability to rebound, switch defensively, and run the floor could translate well at the next level with continued development.
The selection comes as part of a broader draft strategy for the Wings, who are balancing immediate contention with long-term growth. With an already talented core in place, late-round additions like Spearman provide depth and competition heading into training camp.
Spearman is expected to compete for a roster spot in a crowded camp, where her defensive versatility and energy could help her carve out a role early.
