DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks have finalized the coaching staff that will work alongside first-year head coach Dusty May as the franchise begins a new chapter for the 2026-27 season.
The Mavericks announced Wednesday that Willie Green will serve as May’s lead assistant, with Garrett Temple, Joe Boylan, Drew Williamson, Mody Maor, Rob Fodor and Sam Hershberger also joining the coaching staff.
Green brings head-coaching experience to Dallas after spending four seasons leading the New Orleans Pelicans. Temple, meanwhile, moves into coaching after a 16-year NBA playing career.
Williamson gives May a familiar voice after working with him at both Florida Atlantic and Michigan. The two were part of Michigan’s 2026 NCAA championship team before May made the move to Dallas.
Maor joins the Mavericks after coaching in Japan and previously working in Israel, Australia and New Zealand. Fodor arrives with two decades of experience in the Miami Heat organization, including extensive work in shooting and player development.
Nate Mitchell will have a dual role as an assistant with the Mavericks and head coach of the Texas Legends, Dallas’ G League affiliate.
The Mavericks will also retain Tyson Chandler and Quincy Acy as player development coaches. Chandler, a member of Dallas’ 2011 championship team, has worked with the organization in player development since 2021.
The completed staff gives May a blend of NBA experience, player development expertise and coaches familiar with his system as he prepares for his first NBA season.
