ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers made four selections during the opening day of the 2026 MLB Draft, adding a mix of high-upside pitching and infield talent to their farm system.
Texas opened the draft by selecting left-handed pitcher Gio Rojas with the 16th overall pick in the first round. The Rangers followed by drafting infielder Connor Comeau in the second round (54th overall), left-handed pitcher Brody Bumila in the third round (89th overall), and right-handed pitcher Hudson Calhoun in the fourth round (117th overall).
Three of the club’s four Day 1 selections were pitchers, continuing the organization’s emphasis on adding quality arms to its player development pipeline.
The 2026 MLB Draft concludes Sunday, with Rounds 5-20 beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT.
