ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings are turning to a familiar presence in the backcourt, signing veteran guard Odyssey Sims for the 2026 season.
Sims, the No. 2 overall pick by the franchise in 2014, returns to Dallas with more than a decade of WNBA experience and a résumé that reflects both production and resilience. The 5-foot-8 guard has had multiple stints with the Wings organization and now adds another chapter to a career that has taken her across the league.
Since entering the WNBA, Sims has suited up for several teams, including Los Angeles, Minnesota, Atlanta, Connecticut and Indiana, carving out a role as a dependable scorer and playmaker wherever she’s landed. Her journey has been defined by adaptability, with each stop adding to a veteran perspective the Wings now value as they shape their roster.
At her peak, Sims has proven she can impact games at an elite level. She earned All-Star honors in 2019, along with All-WNBA Second Team recognition that same season, highlighting her ability to lead an offense and deliver in high-pressure moments. She also made an immediate impression as a rookie in 2014, landing on the league’s All-Rookie Team.
For Dallas, the move signals more than just adding depth. It’s a reunion with a player who understands the organization and brings leadership to a developing core. Sims’ familiarity with the franchise, combined with her experience across multiple systems, positions her as both a stabilizing presence and a contributor on the court.
As the Wings continue to build toward the 2026 campaign, Sims’ return offers a blend of continuity and veteran savvy—something teams often lean on when expectations begin to rise.
