FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys continued reshaping their roster Wednesday, trading defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a third-round draft pick.
Odighizuwa, a key part of Dallas’ defensive front over the past several seasons, now heads to San Francisco as the 49ers look to reinforce their interior defensive line heading into the upcoming season.
The move gives Dallas additional draft capital as the front office continues to adjust the roster during the offseason. The Cowboys have been active in recent days making moves on the defensive side of the ball, and the trade adds another asset that could be used to address depth or future needs.
Odighizuwa was originally selected by Dallas in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of UCLA Bruins football. During his time with the Cowboys, he developed into a consistent presence on the defensive line, providing interior pressure and run support.
For San Francisco, the addition of Odighizuwa brings a proven interior defender to a unit that has long prioritized a strong defensive front.
The trade marks another step in Dallas’ ongoing offseason roster adjustments as the Cowboys position themselves for the upcoming NFL season.
