Mavericks Look To Go 2-0 Against Warriors

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Dallas Mavericks (27-20) are heading to the West Coast to try and take care of business once again against the Golden State Warriors (34-13) this Tuesday night. The Mavs sit fifth in the Western Conference and the Warriors sit second behind Phoenix.

Dallas has been home the last week and four of the five games resulted in wins for the Mavs. Dallas seems to be getting in the groove at home with a 15-9 record. Their away record is a different story. They currently sit at 12-11 when they don’t play at AAC and that number needs to come up.

The Mavericks are playing stellar defense which is helping them down the stretch when they cant get shots to fall. They held Memphis to 37.4 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from beyond that arc, that’s 8-of-25 from three-point range.

With that being said, that’s Dallas’s 24th consecutive game where they have limited their opponent to under 50 percent shooting.

The Mavericks defeated the Warriors 99-86 in their last matchup on January 6. Luka Doncic led that game with 26 points and Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with 17 points.

Steph Curry and Luka Doncic will go head to head on Tuesday to see who can shoot the lights off of the building as both are averaging high numbers. Curry is averaging 26 points per game and 5.3 rebounds. Doncic has him beat, averaging 27.2 points per game in the last 10 games played.

Jalen Brunson has been a huge help to this Mavericks team this year. He is shooting 50 percent from the floor and averaging 15.8 points per game. He has very consistent play right now for the Mavs and he really helps when Doncic and Porzingis get into shooting slumps.

These two teams will go head to head Tuesday, January 25th at 9 PM.

INJURY REPORT :

Warriors : Andre Iguodala: out (injury management), Klay Thompson: out (knee), Draymond Green: out (back), James Wiseman: out (knee).

Mavericks: Sterling Brown: out (foot), Frank Ntilikina: out (illness).
