FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Stars have signed goaltender Casey DeSmith to a two-year, $5 million contract extension, keeping him in Dallas through the 2028-29 season.
The Casey DeSmith contract extension begins with the 2027-28 season and carries an average annual value of $2.5 million.
DeSmith, 35, has spent the past two seasons with Dallas after joining the Stars as a free agent in 2024. He has posted a 29-16-8 record, .911 save percentage and 2.50 goals-against average during his time with the club.
“Extending Casey has been a priority for us,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said. “He’s been incredibly reliable during his time with our organization.”
DeSmith also recorded a career-best 13-game point streak last season, going 9-0-4 from Oct. 26 through Dec. 23.
The veteran goaltender has a 99-69-29 career record with a .910 save percentage, 2.74 goals-against average and 13 shutouts in 220 NHL games.
The new deal keeps DeSmith paired with Jake Oettinger as Dallas’ goaltending tandem for the next several seasons.
