TORONTO — The Texas Rangers finished off a four-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays with a 3-2 victory Sunday at Rogers Centre.
Texas combined timely hitting with another strong pitching performance, then relied on its bullpen to protect a one-run lead and secure its fourth straight win. The Blue Jays dropped their fourth consecutive game as their offensive struggles continued.
The Rangers open a three-game series at Cleveland on Monday. Texas had not announced a starting pitcher, while the Guardians are expected to send left-hander Parker Messick (7-4, 2.67 ERA) to the mound.
