ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Paige Bueckers continued her strong sophomore season with a game-high 25 points, and rookie Azzi Fudd added 21, but the Dallas Wings came up short in an 85-77 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
Dallas stayed within striking distance for much of the contest, fueled by the offensive production of Bueckers and Fudd. The Wings remained in the fight before Minnesota pulled away with timely baskets and key defensive stops in the fourth quarter.
Bueckers attacked the basket aggressively and knocked down clutch shots throughout the night, while Fudd continued to impress in her rookie campaign by providing Dallas with a consistent secondary scoring threat.
The Lynx were led by rookie Olivia Miles and Natasha Howard, who each finished with 21 points to pace a balanced Minnesota offense. Their production helped the Lynx maintain control down the stretch and secure the road victory.
Despite the loss, Dallas saw another encouraging performance from its young backcourt as Bueckers and Fudd combined for 46 points. The Wings will look to regroup and carry that offensive momentum into their next game.
