Wings Fall to Portland in Final Seconds

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Dallas Wings came up just short Saturday night, falling 84-83 to Portland after a free throw with 1.7 seconds remaining sealed the outcome at Moda Center.

Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with a game-high 22 points, while Azzi Fudd added 18 and Aziaha James scored 17. Jessica Shepard recorded her WNBA-leading eighth double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The game featured nine ties and 14 lead changes, including a back-and-forth fourth quarter. Dallas overcame a slow start but couldn’t match Portland’s outside shooting, as the Fire knocked down 14 three-pointers. Bridget Carleton led Portland with 20 points.

Dallas (8-5) returns home Monday to face the Las Vegas Aces at College Park Center.
