PLANO, Texas — A routine school day at Barron Elementary School turned into a celebration of reading Tuesday as the Dallas Stars Foundation partnered with National Life Group to host a Scholastic Book Fair for students.
The event delivered more than just books — it created an experience.
With Victor E. Green roaming the halls and energizing the crowd, all 344 students were given the opportunity to select three books of their choice, turning the gym into a hub of excitement and discovery.
Beyond the immediate impact, organizers made a lasting investment in the school’s future. An additional 300 books were donated to the campus library, along with essential school supplies, ensuring students will continue to benefit long after the fair wrapped up.
Moments like these highlight the growing role professional sports organizations play off the ice. Through initiatives focused on literacy and education, the Stars are extending their reach into North Texas classrooms — reinforcing that their influence goes well beyond game night.
For the students at Barron Elementary, Tuesday wasn’t just about free books. It was about access, encouragement, and the simple joy of choosing a story of their own.
