ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers couldn’t generate offense Saturday night, falling 2-0 to the Cincinnati Reds at Globe Life Field.
Texas was held to a season-low four hits and was shut out for the first time in 2026. After Evan Carter’s second-inning single, the Rangers went just 1-for-22 the rest of the way, with Josh Jung delivering the lone late hit in the ninth.
Kumar Rocker was sharp in his season debut, allowing two runs over five innings. Both runs came in the first, but he settled in and worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth to keep Texas within striking distance.
Cincinnati didn’t need more. Elly De La Cruz and Sal Stewart each drove in runs in the opening inning, while Rhett Lowder dominated on the mound with six scoreless innings.
The loss marks Texas’ third straight after a four-game winning streak, with the offense going cold at the wrong time.
