TCU Falls Short To Baylor, 62-54

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The TCU Horned Frogs and the Baylor Bears went head-to-head in the Schollmaier Arena, and the Horned Frogs fell short here at home with a final score of 62-54. TCU was led by Jameer Nelson with a total of with 11 points, two rebounds, and four assists.

Head Coach Jamie Dixon said that they just didn’t get it done.

“We just didn’t get it done in a variety of ways, we’re overall just disappointed.”

TCU started the game out strong but couldn’t maintain a lead past the first couple of minutes and they went into the locker room down by two, 23-25.

Baylor and TCU together had a total of 18 turnovers within the 1st half.

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew says that when you play TCU you have to do an overall good job on the glass and in transition.

“When you play TCU you have to do a good job on the glass and you have to do a good job keeping them out of transition , which we did for most of the night.”

Coming out of halftime the Horned Frogs were really struggling to get points on the board and shots just weren’t falling shooting 33% from the floor throughout the entirety of the game.

TCU and Baylor had a combined total of 29 turnovers and 32 fouls total for the game.

The horned frog’s weak offense really affected this game tonight as well as lack of rebounding with 29 to match the Bears 41, both factors contributing to tonight’s loss.

Emanuel Miller says that they must learn from today and their mistakes moving forward.

“We have to learn from our mistakes, this loss hurts, and definitely stings a little bit, but we have BYU Saturday so we just have to learn from this game.”

The Horned Frogs, now 19-9 will get ready to hit the road to face off BYU Saturday March 2nd, Tip-off is at 8pm and can be streamed on ESPN+.
