Amari Cooper Beat Dehydration At Offense/Defense Camp

DALLAS, Texas – Cowboys’ receiver Amari Cooper talked heat safety with young athletes on behalf of the 15th Annual Gatorade Beat The Heat program at Hockaday School in Dallas on Monday June 24th. The priority of the offense/defense camp was to educate kids on the dangers of dehydration in the hot summer months. This will mark Cooper’s first camp as a Dallas Cowboy. The 2018 Pro Bowler participated in camp drills and interacted with the participants. He demonstrated for the young athletes how to get separation on routes by the correct footwork and burst.

The 25-year-old wanted to emphasize to the young players that “it is important to always be at your highest level and to do that, you have to stay hydrated. “

Dallas’ offensive weapon was once in their shoes attending football camps and understands the importance of fueling the body consistently in order to maximize potential out on the field.

He can certainly recall his standout high school camp years before, “ when I was 17, I went to the Alabama camp. It was really hot. I was drinking Gatorade. We were doing one-on-one’s and I kinda ran a route and made this guy fall. It was right in front of coach Saban. He saw and just came up to me; he took off his hat and shook my hand. I just got an offer that day. “

One play and Cooper got a college offer. A representation of Amari’s craft at running fluid routes and to coach Saban on recruiting and recognizing talent when he sees it. Amari came out to Dallas to share the effectiveness of staying hydrated and the endless possibilities for the young athletes with the right foundation and dedication!
