ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings’ six-game winning streak came to an end Monday night as the New York Liberty escaped with a 99-98 overtime victory before a sellout crowd at College Park Center.
Playing without leading scorer Paige Bueckers, the Wings (17-9) were led by Arike Ogunbowale, who finished with 29 points, six assists and five rebounds. Jessica Shepard recorded her WNBA-leading 13th double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Azzi Fudd added 15 points.
Breanna Stewart powered the Liberty (14-12) with a game-high 33 points and 13 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu scored 21 points, including 12 in overtime.
Dallas shot 47.4% from the field and 52.4% from 3-point range, but New York controlled the boards 48-34 and turned a 30-6 edge in second-chance points into the difference.
Despite the loss, Dallas won the regular-season series over New York 2-1 for its first series victory against the Liberty since 2022.
The Wings continue their road trip Wednesday against the Portland Fire at Moda Center. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. CT.
