DALLAS — SMU has officially launched its “K7NG OF DALLAS” campaign, putting quarterback Kevin Jennings at the center of the program’s push for the 2026 Heisman Trophy.
A Dallas native, Jennings’ football journey has remained close to home. The former South Oak Cliff standout stayed in his hometown to continue his career at SMU, where he has developed into one of the nation’s top quarterbacks.
The campaign highlights Jennings’ deep ties to the city with the message: Dallas born. Dallas raised. Dallas made.
If Jennings captures college football’s most prestigious individual award, he would become the first Mustang to win the Heisman Trophy since legendary running back Doak Walker claimed the honor in 1948.
The Mustangs enter the season with high expectations, and Jennings is expected to play a pivotal role as SMU looks to build on its recent success while making a national championship push. The university’s new campaign underscores its belief that the hometown star belongs in the Heisman conversation from the opening kickoff.
