DALLAS — SMU enters the 2026 college football season with significant preseason recognition after eight Mustangs were named to Athlon Sports’ Preseason All-ACC Team, highlighting the program’s talent on both sides of the ball.
Leading the group is linebacker Kobe Wilson, who also earned preseason All-America honors from Athlon Sports after establishing himself as one of the conference’s top defensive playmakers.
Joining Wilson on the preseason All-ACC team are quarterback Kevin Jennings, offensive linemen Joshua Bates and Addison Nichols, wide receiver Yamir Knight, running back Kendrick Raphael, defensive lineman Brandon Booker, and defensive back Alexander Kilgore.
The preseason accolades reflect the expectations surrounding the Mustangs as they prepare for another season with aspirations of competing for an ACC championship. With experienced leaders returning on offense and defense, SMU is positioned to once again contend among the conference’s top programs.
