Kuier’s Career Night Spoiled as Dream Pull Away From Wings

ATLANTA — The Dallas Wings erased a 16-point deficit and briefly took the lead in the fourth quarter, but the Atlanta Dream closed the game on a dominant 19-1 run to hand Dallas an 86-69 loss Friday night at Gateway Center.

Awak Kuier led the Wings with a career-high 16 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting performance, including 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Jessica Shepard added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Odyssey Sims scored 14 points and dished out five assists.

Paige Bueckers finished with a team-high seven assists as Dallas recorded 21 assists for the fourth straight game. Azzi Fudd added seven points and a career-high three blocks as the Wings matched a season high with eight blocks.

Dallas dropped to 3-3 on the season and wraps up its road trip Sunday against the New York Liberty.
