Mavericks vs Thunder Storylines

Vernon Hadnot/D210SPORTS

DALLAS, TX – The Mavericks (29-22) are headed back to American Airlines Center on Wednesday night to hopefully bounce back against this Oklahoma City Thunder (15-34) team after losing to the Magic on the road earlier this week 110-108.

Dallas has split their last six games, including their horrible loss to the Magic on Sunday. Looking back on Sunday’s game, Luka Doncic led with a triple double. He had 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Jalen Brunson added 15 points and Marquese Chriss added 14 points and four steals coming off the bench.

The Mavericks shot 48 percent from the floor and 42 percent from the three-point line. Dallas is usually a very good defending team but they didn’t bring their defense on Sunday. They gave up 41 points to Orlando in the second quarter giving away their 11-point lead.

Dallas got down 12 points but rallied back at the end. The Mavericks scored just 20 points in the fourth quarter and they ran out of time and Orlando took the two point win.

Oklahoma is having a no good season as they have lost 12 of their last 14 games. They are coming off a 98-81 win over the Trail Blazers on Monday so maybe they will carry some momentum into this game against Dallas.

Luguentz Dort led OKC with 18 points. The Thunder got off to a bad start in this game going down 18 points to the Trail Blazers but their defense in the second half rallied them to a win. OKC allowed just 34 points in the second half to the Trail Blazers and they rallied to a victory.

Tip off is set for 7:30 PM in American Airlines Center.
