DALLAS – The Dallas Stars continued their perfect preseason Wednesday night, shutting out the Minnesota Wild 2-0 at American Airlines Center.
Matthew Seminoff opened the scoring in the second period, giving Dallas a 1-0 lead. Esa Lindell added an insurance goal in the third, putting the Stars in control late.
The biggest story came in net. Remi Poirier stepped in after Jake Oettinger was scratched shortly before the game and turned away all 24 shots he faced for the shutout. Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said Oettinger was dealing with some lower-body tightness and was held out as a precaution.
Dallas improved to 3-0 in the preseason with the victory. The Stars will close out their exhibition schedule Friday with another matchup against Minnesota in St. Paul.
For Dallas, the preseason finale provides one more opportunity to evaluate the roster before the regular season arrives.
