Stars Acquire Veteran Defenseman Tyler Myers from Vancouver

DALLAS — The Dallas Stars bolstered their blue line Thursday, acquiring veteran defenseman Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks.

The 6-foot-8 right-handed defenseman adds size, experience and depth to Dallas as the club continues its push toward the postseason. Myers has spent the past several seasons with Vancouver, logging heavy minutes and contributing on both ends of the ice.

Originally drafted by Buffalo, Myers won the NHL’s Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 2010 and has built a reputation as a durable, physical presence on the back end.

Dallas will look to quickly integrate the veteran blueliner as it continues its climb in the Western Conference standings.
