FORT, WORTH — Friday night TCU defeated Lamar University in a close game, finishing 77-66. Mike Miles led tonight’s game with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Lamar had a target on Miles throughout the entirety of the game. “I expected it. They try to contain me. They tried to contain me. They banged me up a little,” said Miles.

The Horned Frogs continued struggling to find a steady rhythm within their ball game. During the first half TCU led Lamar 36-27. At the start of the second half TCU allowed Lamar to make a quick comeback but responded with their quick run games.

Shada Wells and Emmanuel Miller were the duo that were able to come into the game and create separation from Lamar when the frogs were down.

Emanuel Miller put up 12 points and Shahada Wells with 10. Miller also emphasized that they need more discipline in their execution. “We are still far from where we want to be but I feel we still have the capability to achieve those goals.”

Coach Jamie Dixon said ” We have become too reliant on 3 point shooting and our percentage isn’t great”

“Guard the three, more active on the ball. In no way do I feel we played a great game but we addressed some things we needed to fix”

The absence of Damion Baugh continues to linger into the frogs game but Coach Dixon said that there are small hopeful updates coming by the day.

“We are getting closer. We haven’t gotten anything official but the news has gotten better but it hasn’t gotten that better because he’s not playing”

TCU is now 2-0 and will face the Northwestern State Demons Monday night at the Schollmaier Arena. Tip-off is at 7.
