NO. 21 SMU Beats Tulane, 55-26

DALLAS, TX — Mustangs add another win to their resume, moving to 7-0 on the season. SMU scored on the opening drive of the game and dominated from that point on. The Green Wave defense didn’t have an answer for quarterback, Tanner Mordecai and were dominated at the line of scrimmage.

Tulane falls to (1-6) overall and (0-3) in the American. SMU has won the match up every season since 2015. The Green Wave’s last win came over Morgan State in mid-September. Since then, the Green Wave dropped 5 straight games.

SMU Head Coach, Sonny Dykes said he thought the 1st half was the best his team has played all year. Offensively, SMU put up 612 total yards. Tanner Mordecai completed 30 of his 42 pass attempts, for 427 yards and 3 touchdowns. Danny Gray led the receiving core with 140 yards on 8 catches.

Next weekend, SMU plays a talented Houston team, also undefeated so far in the American. AAC regular season play continues through the end of November, followed by the conference title December 4th.
