FORT WORTH, TX — Coming off back-to-back loses, TCU (4-2) will try to get their mojo back this Saturday as they take on undefeated Texas A&M (3-0).

The Horned Frogs came up short to Providence this past Wednesday 79-70. TCU could not get it done on offense. Providence’s full court press frazzled TCU causing 19 turnovers. The Horned Frogs shot 60% from the floor, the best shooting average in a game this season, but the turnovers caused too much damage. TCU’s offense was led by RJ Nembhard and Mike Miles. Nembhard led with 25 points and 7 rebounds. He has facilitated on 47% of all TCU field goals in the last three games. Miles had 20 points and 1 rebound.

TCU continues to get outworked on defense. Providence was able shoot the three, penetrate the basket, and get 18 offensive boards. The Horned Frogs were a bigger team, but were outplayed in the paint by the Friars. Providence outrebounded TCU 33-20 and shot 43% from beyond the arc. Providence was led by David Duke. He had 28 points and 8 rebounds. Nate Watson contributed another 18 points.

Texas A&M is coming into this matchup undefeated at 3-0. They beat Texas Rio Grande Valley on Sunday by 13. The Aggies are led by Savion Flagg and Emanuel Miller. Flagg is averaging 12.3 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Miller is averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds. Miller came off the bench scoring 21 in Sunday’s game.

Miller has the ability to drive to the basket and protect the ball. If the layup isn’t there the kick out to Flagg beyond the arc is his go too. Flagg shoots 40% from the three and has no issues knocking down the shot.

Texas A&M does a lot of penetrating to the basket and a dish out to an open man at the three-point line. TCU will have cut off the Aggies ability to drive in the paint and can not leave shooters wide open at the three-point line.

The Aggies’ intense defense could disrupt TCU’s offense if they are not careful. Texas A&M’s defense has forced their opponents to turn the ball over on 28% of all turnovers, ranked 13th in the Nation. TCU will have to protect the ball better than what they did against Providence to stay competitive in this contest.

The game will be Saturday, December 12th at 1:00 p.m.
