FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas came out aggressive and struck first, but Vancouver Whitecaps FC answered with timely finishes and handed Dallas a 3-2 defeat Wednesday night at Toyota Stadium.
Dallas showed energy from the opening whistle and grabbed an early breakthrough when Logan Farrington rose above the defense and buried a header off a well-placed delivery from Ran Binyamin. The assist marked Binyamin’s second consecutive match contributing to a goal, while Farrington’s fifth score of the season matched the career-best total he posted in 2025.
Vancouver weathered the early pressure and slowly settled into the match, capitalizing on defensive lapses and controlling key stretches of possession. Despite Dallas creating chances throughout the night, the Whitecaps found enough answers to leave Frisco with all three points.
FC Dallas forward Petar Musa continued his strong campaign by converting a penalty kick in the second half after Farrington drew a foul inside the box. Musa’s goal was his 11th of the season, moving him within one score of tying Kenny Cooper Jr. for third place on the club’s all-time scoring list with 46 career goals.
Head coach Eric Quill said Dallas executed its game plan early but lost momentum as the match unfolded.
“We had a bright start and played on the front foot,” Quill said. “Against a team like Vancouver, you have to keep pushing because they’re difficult defensively and can punish mistakes.”
The loss adds pressure to Dallas as the club heads into its final two matches before the World Cup break, with upcoming road contests against the San Jose Earthquakes and Colorado Rapids.
