BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Arlington Renegades came up short in a dramatic overtime battle Saturday night, falling 24-21 to the Birmingham Stallions after a late comeback forced extra time.

Birmingham quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson engineered a clutch game-tying drive in the fourth quarter before delivering a flawless performance in the overtime shootout to seal the win for the Stallions, who earned their second consecutive victory. Dallas, meanwhile, has now lost four straight games and remains winless on the road at 0-3.

Despite the result, the Renegades showed resilience throughout their first overtime contest of the season.

Quarterback Austin Reed completed 25 of 37 passes for 166 yards while adding 10 rushing yards. Dallas leaned on a balanced offensive effort, highlighted by running back Ellis Merriweather, who turned in his strongest outing of the year.

Merriweather scored twice and now leads the team with four rushing touchdowns this season. His biggest moment came on a 15-yard scoring run that gave Dallas a 17-10 advantage late in the game. He finished with 38 rushing yards and also paced the Renegades in receiving with 33 yards.

Running back Dae Dae Hunter led Dallas on the ground with 43 rushing yards, while quarterback Luke Lehnen added a spark with a team-high 32 rushing yards of his own. Lehnen’s longest run came early in the first quarter on a 19-yard burst up the middle.

Defensively, cornerback Steven Jones continued his strong season by recording his second interception of the year in the opening quarter.

The Renegades battled deep into overtime, but Birmingham capitalized late to hand Dallas another narrow defeat as the team searches for answers during its skid.
