DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks have added another weapon to their backcourt, signing veteran guard D’Angelo Russell. Contract details were not disclosed.
A former All-Star and NBA Cup champion, Russell brings scoring and experience to Dallas. He’s averaged 17.3 points and 5.7 assists across 629 games with the Lakers, Nets, Warriors, and Timberwolves.
Drafted No. 2 overall in 2015, Russell was a standout at Ohio State and a national champion at Montverde Academy—just like Mavs rookies Cooper Flagg and Ryan Nembhard.
He’ll wear No. 5 for Dallas. Miles Kelly will now wear No. 14.
