New York Liberty Take The Victory Over The Dallas Wings

ARLINGTON, TX- The Dallas Wings finish tonight’s matchup 1-2 against the New York Liberty, falling to New York by one points, 94-93.

The Unicorn, Satou Sabally, helped the Wings with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Wings did not take Sunday night’s overtime loss lightly and came out fiery in tonight’s matchup against the New York Liberty.

Dallas displayed good ball movement and were able to avoid New York’s pressure inside the paint.

With 1:47 in the 1st quarter Crystal Dangerfield had a loose ball that was recovered by Satou Sabally who was fouled on the shot and converted the and-one, which gave Dallas a 28-26 lead. Dangerfield was then fouled by New York’s Stefanie Dolson, giving her the chance at two. Crystal sunk both free-throws, 30-26.

The Liberty caught up in the second quarter after a 5-0 run, 45-37, and a good layup by Kayla Thorton gave them the lead with 1.1 seconds left in the second quarter, 53-51.

It was a shot for shot game in the second half, but New York came up with the win in the last three seconds after a missed shot by Satou Sabally. New York’s Breanna Stewart got the defense rebound and let the clock run down.

The Wings put up a fight and Head Coach Latricia Trammell said postgame the team was proud of their competitive spirit on the court tonight.

“They were connected,” said Trammell. They came together and competed. I feel like they came ready, but to see that performance- I told them we can win out and go deep in these playoffs. I was extremely proud of every one of them.”

UP NEXT: The Dallas Wings will look to continue that momentum into Friday night’s matchup against the Seattle Storm. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at College Park Center.
