Dallas Snaps Two Game Winning Streak In 80-75 Loss

ATLANTA, GA- Atlanta Dream ended the Dallas Wing’s two-game winning streak after Tuesday night’s 80-75 loss. Dallas, now 8-9, remains in third place in the western conference after.

Allisha Gray led the team in offense with 18 points, while both Arike Ogunbowale and Teaira McCowan each scored 14 points.

Atlanta players Maya Caldwell and Rhyne Howard both combined for a total of 34 points.

Allisha Gray made the first basket of the game after a defensive rebound that was followed by an and-one at the line. Gray then quickly responded with a 23-foot three-point jumper, giving the Wings bench a reason to jump on their feet. Atlanta, in return, made back-to-back three-point jumpers that secured the first lead of the game.

Atlanta outshot Dallas in the first half of the game by eleven points, leaving the Wings to fight back an uphill battle at the beginning of the third.

Dallas came out hot after the half and put up 26 points in the third quarter. The wings were able to bring the score within one after Teaira McCowan led the offensive with 8 points. Both teams went back and forth with ball movement on the court and points made until Atlanta took over with 3-minutes left in the game.

The Wings shot poorly in the fourth, only scoring nine points, to end the game with a 75-80 loss.

As a team, Dallas shot 37.9% from the field and 24% from the line. While their opponent shot 45.3% from the field and 45.5% from the three-point line.

Dallas will return home and host Indiana Fever, Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00 Pm CT.
