Mike Miles Leads TCU To A 83-51 Win Over Southern Miss

FORT WORTH, TX – TCU Men’s Basketball seemed to find its rhythm on the court tonight with an 83-51 win over Southern Miss.

TCU played tough on both sides of the ball, but Coach Dixon still sees room for improvement. He said the guys shot better tonight, shooting 53% in the first half and completing the game at 49% from the floor, but still hopes to grow offensively in the coming weeks.

Defensively, the Horned Frogs played hard and outrebounded the Golden Eagles 53-27.

“The numbers were really good. I thought we kind of faded a little bit at the end,” Dixon said. “But that’s something that we have to be really good at. You have to be good at what you’re built for.”

According to Dixon, transitions and better decisions on drives are the focal points before the next game.

While there is no denying that there is room to grow, the team said they felt more comfortable playing in front of everybody tonight. Emanuel Miller and Micah Peavy said that their chemistry off the court helps during the game.

“We just all get along,” Peavy said. “We just clicked right away on the court and off the court.”

Despite room for improvement, one thing fans can count on is the team’s talent.

Mike Miles led the Horned Frogs in scoring, yet again tonight, with 20 points and was 9-15 against the Golden Eagles.

Forward Emanuel Miller with his second double-double of the season, completed the game with the same stat line as Thursday of 12 points and 13 rebounds.

When asked about his past two games playing for TCU, Miller said that he is more than glad to do anything he can to help his teammates and the program, as a whole.

“Moving forward, our team is going to be very scary,” Miller said. “We just sync very well together.”

TCU will finish its homestand by hosting Nicholls State this Thursday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
