SMU Falls To WSU 67-55

DALLAS, Texas — SMU Men’s Basketball fell to Wichita State during the home finale, 67-55. The Mustangs had 12 rebounds with Head Coach Tim Jankovich saying that was a good number, but wish it were lower. Feron Hunt led the Mustangs with 14 points while both Jahmal McMurray and Ethan Chargois were right behind with 13 points each.

Jahmal McMurray made only 1 of the 7 three-pointers he attempted. After the game, McMurray said it’s not about making the most points, but working together as a team out on the court.

Sr. Jarrey Foster said he has been looking forward to this game all season long. Senior day meant a celebration to Foster and thanking the seniors. Foster was the only athlete that has been apart of the team since he was a freshman. Both Foster and James Pyle were on the roster when the Mustangs took home the AAC tournament championship back in 2017.

Foster only started to get back on the court two days ago after not playing for six weeks. He said his body was sore all over, but it didn’t matter because he was able to play at Moody one last time.

Coach Jankovich bragged a bit on Pyle with how he is truly a D1 walk on athlete. Pyle told us how he actually tried out for the team his freshman year and was cut during the process. He said because of this, he worked hard all year for when tryouts came around again, the coaches couldn’t say no with how well he progressed.

The Mustangs face Houston and USF away this week before heading to Memphis for the AAC Championship tournament.
