DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks came up short Wednesday night, falling to the New Orleans Pelicans 101-97 at American Airlines Center.
Dallas struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just 10 of 49 3-point attempts. Turnovers also hurt the Mavericks, making it difficult to build momentum.
Tobi Lawal led Dallas with 16 points, while Sergio de Larrea added 10 points and six assists. Moussa Cisse contributed eight points, six rebounds and three blocks.
The Mavericks made a late push in the fourth quarter but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Dallas will look to sharpen its execution in its next preseason matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
