VANCOUVER, British Columbia — FC Dallas’ strong run of road results came to a sudden halt Saturday night as the Vancouver Whitecaps rolled to a 5-0 victory at BC Place.
Dallas entered the match coming off consecutive road wins, including a thrilling 4-3 victory at Real Salt Lake. But the Whitecaps controlled the match from the opening whistle, scoring three times before halftime and adding two more after the break.
Brian White scored twice for Vancouver, while Emmanuel Sabbi opened the scoring. Edier Ocampo and Bruno Caicedo also found the net as the Whitecaps returned to the top of the Western Conference.
FC Dallas falls to 9-6-6 with 33 points and now turns its attention to the final stop of an 11-game road stretch. The club will visit St. Louis CITY SC on Aug. 30 before returning home.
That return will mark the opening of the new East Side at Toyota Stadium. The more than $200 million stadium transformation will welcome fans Sept. 5 when Dallas hosts Sporting Kansas City.
